To Obtain an Open Burn Permit:
A person can either call or come into the North Bend Police Department for an open burn permit. If a person obtains an open burn permit by phone, it will only be good for three (3) days. If a person comes into the North Bend Police Department and obtains an open burn permit, it will be good for two (2) weeks. There are no costs for an open burn permit.
To Obtain a Burn Barrel Permit:
To obtain a burn barrel permit, a person needs to come into the North Bend Police Department and ask for a burn barrel permit. A burn barrel permit will only be issued Monday’s thru Friday’s between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. excluding holidays. The permit is good for one year, and there are no costs for a burn barrel permit.
Burn Permit Regulations
Open Fire Regulations:
- Obtain a current fire permit.
- Maintain a proper clearance from buildings, combustible materials and property lines.
- Burning hours are daylight hours only and when there is no wind.
- Burning of garbage is prohibited.
- A responsible adult, with a preconnected water hose, must be present at all times. Keep children away from the fire.
Incinerator Regulations:
- Obtain a current fire permit
- Incinerator must be of non-combustible material and in good condition.
- All openings must be covered by a heavy metal screen with screen openings no larger than one quarter inch.
- Incinerator must be set on a non-combustible base, be at least 15 ft. from buildings, combustible materials and property lines. Dry grass is to be removed for a distance of 15 ft.
- Burning hours are daylight hours only and when there is no wind.
- Burning of garbage is prohibited.
- A responsible adult, with a preconnected water hose, must be present at all times. Keep Children away from the fire.
